Alysa & Joe

Alysa and Joe. 3 days prior to this day I lost one of my best friends in life, my dad.  He was my mentor in life and the sole reason why I even do what I do.  He introduced me to photography and a lot of the things I love today was through him.  I loved everything he loved and followed in his footsteps whether it was sports, photos, food, etc…  Everything I learned today about taking pictures was through the use of his old Canon AE-1 camera he purchased back in the 70’s.  I still have that today and it sits right next to my desk.  But as the days approached to Joe and Alysa’s wedding day and the lost still fresh in my heart I honestly didn’t really know if I had it in me to photograph a wedding.  But the more I thought about Alysa and Joe.  Their relationship, their friendship, and their faith I just knew there was only one place I had to be on that July Saturday.  I’m so glad I could be a part of their day not because I went through some of the toughest times coming into their wedding but they are actually amazing and awesome people.  I mean Alysa is crazy funny and beautiful and Joe is one of the kindest and soft spoken guy you will ever meet.  They and their families and friends were the perfect comforter at the time and it was the perfect classic love story.  Alysa & Joe both meet in high school, went off to college in opposite directions, dealt with a long distance relationship for years, and finally marrying after finishing school.  Everything just came together so well and their day could not be any more perfect.  So thankful for this amazing blessing to be a part of their lives and this is the reason why I love weddings.
